This paper that came factory:

I took off and replaced with plastic and seal around it with water proof tape

This will not help with the tailgate rust, that would be your Weatherstripping . But it will help with a little water getting to the back of the Bronco. But again that should not happen with good Weatherstripping .

Tailgate Weatherstripping kit you can get from RockAuto for $26 than at our 5% discount. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...614&cc=1105861

Yea, that bracket is for the spring.

Funny about that paper. I didn't have it in either of my two Broncos. I got a third tailgate in the garage from my project. I'll have to look in it.

Yeah buddy there is a torsion bar type spring that should be in the tailgate. It ends in a piece of rod that comes out and slides up and down through that loop.

Stadium Seating

I made some good progress today, All the seat bases are in, probably another night worth of welding on them but they are all in! Need to get a section of hinge for the passengers front seat to make it flip forward. I have set a goal of having the body off by next Sunday!

Here's a thread I had on repairing the tailgate torsion bar when it broke loose in my gate on the '90.
Peek through, read some and you'll get a real good understanding of the bar and how it's mounted. 78-96.

Fabrication

Go to the shop late tonight. Had some fun thou!

Got to mock up the biggest and easiest part of the Center Consol tonight! Put it right were I wanted it! I plan to build it from sheet metal and wood. Don't know when but at least I got a good start on the mock up of it!

To Roll Bar or not to Roll Bar that is the question! What do you guys think should I break down and install a roll bar into patches while I'm at it?

Good progress, are you planning on carrying the center console back as well, or building a separate center console for the back two seats? I like the idea of four separate buckets, and I think the two separate centers would be pretty neat.

Cheers,
Mike

Maybe I missed it, do those front seats tilt forward to allow access to the back seats?

Rich,

No as of right now they do not pivot but I have full intentions on making the passenger seat pivot just like it did in the beginning!

Mike,

I was thinking of extending the front consol all the way into the rear but both seats would need to pivot then so no I plan to have a separate consol in the rear for those seats. I am going to use the original center latch mount bolt holes to hold it down that is why I did not cover them when I welded in the filler panel for the hole that was there!

The front consol will go all the way to the front under the ash tray, this is just the first part of it! I thought it was funny how it looks almost exactly like the drawing I sketched up, that is not always the case.

I want the touch screen radio in easy reach of the driver, this is what I came up with so far. Are you talking about the opening for the shifter or the whole front section in general?
