itwasFREE!!!! Anyone interested in running Upper Terminator June 29th either as a Night Run or an early morning run. If you haven't been on this trail body damage is a high probability. It will require 35s at least 1 locker and experienced driving skills with an intimate relationship between the skinny pedal and brake pedal.

BroncoAZ LS3 refers to the corvette 6.2L engine. I would think LQ4 or LQ9, which are the truck 6.0L engines, would be the engine to use. I would strongly recommend a 4L80 trans instead of the 4L60. I would also think the NP261 manual tcase from the Silverado would be the simplest setup, and it is driverís side drop. Maybe the 208 is better, but I donít know much about them.

What kind of money were the quotes?

Blue1551 I checked on the cost of doing an LS verses Coyote swap. Keeping with a Ford drive train would cost about $1800 to $2000 more than an LS. They make all kinds of kits for LS"s along with the rest of the running gear. So LS it is. (oh the shame)

LS3 6.0 with a 4L60E T case 208? This is the combination suggested by the three shops I got bids from.

What do you think.

A Mustang 5.0 engine (we had a '17 GT for a while) would be a really poor choice... it needs to rev to make power, no bottom end torque.
For the Coyote, the Mars setup is for a truck engine which should be a better match for the Bronco than the Mustang version. My Coyote experience is limited to driving someone elseís, my buddy has a 2013 302 Boss, had a 2017 GT, has a 2018 GT, but I completely agree with the power band being too high for a Bronco.

Iím looking at kit vs piecing it together. Decent junkyard 6.0ís seem to be $1500 and up, 5.3ís are $500 and up. I can get the harness done and the ECM flashed/programmed for $600. Kitwise, the 6.0 from Mars looks like a better deal than the 5.3 because of the 6.0 cost.

I looked into going this route, for the cost Iím researching an LS swap. These Windsors are significant $$$ to build into anything fun, and then youíre limited to what can be done with the old computers. The LS transfer case has a driver side drop, so you could run the entire engine/4L80/transfer case. With my T-18 manual I should be able to bolt the LS to my current trans and not modify my drivelines. The 5.3 is rated for 100 more horsepower than my stock 302, so it should be a significant improvement.

You could also go Coyote for probably not much more money than building the Windsor. Iím not sure what you did for shock mounts and such with your SAS, but if a wide Coyote fits itíll run better and be more tunable than a stroked Windsor. Cost isnít as bad as you might think, you can have this at your door for about $5500.

Food for thought. I just want turnkey reliability modern power. If I could feasibly run a 2.3 Ecoboost from a Mustang Iíd seriously consider it for the weight savings alone. Iíve been into the Broncos long enough (got mine in 1996) to have survived Chris Parrettís Maximum Bronco 351 to 408 Stroked build, He dumped probably $20K into that and it always had issues. Drive train

Ok I have the greatest WIFE. Seance we have returned from MOAB we have talking about how the Bronco preformed. The decision has been the drive train from water pump to diff unjoints needs to be replaced.

I know I want Hilliker to do my E4OD, but that is just one part. I want everything to be done in AZ and I want it to be done right that means I wonít be doing it. Who in AZ builds the most reliable stroker motor and can change from a 5.0 to a 5.8 and make the transmission shift correctly. It all needs to be warrantee.

Well, we have to bow out of the Moab trip too. :( I have been having health problems (not life threatening, but really annoying), and driving a long distance will not help. I hope there will be more Bronco invasions in the future as we still would like to go to at least one. Thank you and have a great time!

The advantage of going threw Flag is the convoy time together is greater. Tucson goes to Phoenix to Flag where I join and we all head to Moab.

I do not see @Squatch_01 and @tkrone8970 on the schedule anymore have they dropped out.


We could all meet in Young and start from there

On the return trip we can discuss it in MOAB.

(Not Moab but my reason, so not a happy camper right now.)

Unfortunately I will not be able to make this trip, Bronco wonít quite be ready but hope it turns into an annual event so I can catch the next one! Thanks for checking in though, you guys will have a blast Iím sure.

I hope you guys don't mind if I jump in here. We need to plan when and how we will be traveling to MOAB.

The departure dates are:

@BroncoGal27 is leaving on 4-28-19
@Quader1 @White Dragon @not a jeep and myself are scheduled to depart on 4-29-19
@jfourdyce is scheduled to leave on 5-2-19

Adopt A Street Clean Up. March 30th

As mentioned in the AZ Bronco Club MnG & Event Calander This coming weekend is our scheduled Street clean up. It is imperative that you come out and give us a hand. I know what you're thinking it takes too long!! Your absolutely right, I am not going to deny that! Heres the thing though. 1).
