We had a Cardinal doing that at our last house. I don't know what kept it from killing itself

I researched some and found they see their reflection in the window and think they are protecting their turf by attacking what they think is another bird. People do different things to try to keep them from seeing themselves in the window to stop it.

CJREX Speaking of birds...

BikerPepe` We loose 4 or 5 birds every year from them flying into our windows. I just can't figure out if they think they're flying into another bird just like them or if it's more of a Wile E. Coyote tunnel kinda thing.

helirich This guy has been living at my house for about twelve years. He pecks on and flys into the Windows all the time. It use to bug us, but now it blends into the background and I would miss him if he left. We have some feeders out side these windows, but we aren't religious about keeping them full. He doesn't care. He usually won't sit still for a pic. I guess he knocked himself a little silly here.

Frank Lanzisera Sloppy Joes Key West last week. Great band and fun times. Fishing with my attorney friend and having drinks with him and a marine friend at Sj’s. Mild mannered night. Ahem.

No warthogs over my house (awesome planes) but plenty of Apaches. Who'd have thought the lake Erie region would be such a hotbed of military aircraft activity.
