Looking for Trails / Places to Ride - Northern Illinois

Getting my Bronco ready for the summer, looking for places to take it in Northern Illinois or Southern Wisconsin.

Any ideas??? Thanks!

Illinois off road use on public land is illegal of any type. Privately owned property is too much liability so no one wants someone getting hurt on their property. Nearest around me is the Indiana Badlands, some good off reading to be done over there and I am not sure anymore but the Indiana dunes were a hot spot back in the day along with the Michigan dunes.

The Cliffs Insane Terrain in Marseiles IL is another great off road park. BUT, it pretty much will result in some light body damage as a minimum. I've been there a lot and it's a great park if youre looking for pretty gnarly off roading or mud.

Hmmm never been there, that might require a test run for my 78 when I get it rolling.

Thanks for the ideas, I put links below to the 3 I've found. The McHenry option seems to be relatively new and is closest to me. If I can get out there, I'll post back how it is. Seems to be a relatively small place, but you can get your tires muddy!

I just wanted to warn you, it's more for jeeps and buggies. They have lots of great trails but you will at the minimum be dragging branches across your roof and fenders. The Ultimate Adventure has made stops at the park as well. I had an off-road only 95' EB Bronco that got beat up pretty good there down the more difficult trails. Trail 1 is supposed to be for "stock" 4x4s but it hasn't been like that since the first week they were open. Lots of mud there too
