ah hell, wheeling in the dark is not bad. makes water seem deeper than it really is, and mud looks more makeable than it really is

yes you can. night runs are some of the most fun, especially out there. its just easy to get turned around if its dusty and nobody has a map

that damn k car simply wouldnt die! of course it did have custom full body skid plates, rebar front recovery points, custom axe-cut sunroof, and snorkel. it finally succumbed to a grenaded CV joint, but the motor kept running!

pfun, you were on a different road than Im talking about. If you look at the Google Map of Lake City, you will see 90 running to the east of town off of 441/47. Co Road 250/250A isnt big gum road, it runs along the eastern shore of Ocean Pond. CR 233 is big gum rd. post up when you plan on...

glad y'all found some fun stuff. next time, take the 90 exit for olustee and head west. turn right on CR250A towards Ocean Pond Campground, there are trails all over. or you go farther into lake city, take 41 north past the lake city off road park then turn right on Christy Rd ( im pretty...

the axle shafts themselves dont really matter, or at least I never had an issue with it. its the bearing caps in the diff that you need to mark along with the bolts as they are worn and stretched to fit that exact position.

yes its a good thing. gear changes are simple as pie, just take the third member out and leave the housing attached to the truck. you can even keep spare thirds around in case of breakage, easy to swap out on the trail. unless you have a fire breathing motor, you can feel pretty comfortable...

we've got our own shops here in FLA that crank out some wild stuff. I'll have to see if i can dig up a picture of my brother-in-law's old truck before he built his rover buggy. It was a Range Rover Classic on coilover fronts, 404 mogs, recentered H1s and 40" boggers.front exo. the rover buggy...

I believe that would be Alpha Pit or A-pit. Its about the closest thing to rock climbing that we have except for Hard Rock ORV which coincidentally is right just south of A-pit on the same road

just throwin this out there, the Florida Land Rover Club is doing a trail ride AND clean up in Osceola on May 21st. If im not working I'll be there, hopefully with the rover. I know the rangers in in Osceola can be a bit anal about things up there, volunteering for a cleanup would go a long way...

just put a few coats of wax on it before you go out wheeling again. there's a reason we call it FLORIDA PINSTRIPING. most trails you will run into around here will eventually get snug. build up a good coat of wax and what scratches you get will literally buff out. this is coming from 8-9 years...

haha yea, I got it fixed. Cant remember if we figured out the problem up there or not, but one of those big drop offs on Daniel made the crossmember hit the pumpkin and and pinched the hardline. turns out one of the adjusters in the D60 was frozen too so only one rear brake was biting. thank...

if y'all dont mind waiting, I may be able to talk a few rover friends into riding along. They all have marked maps you wont find on the internet, or they actually LIVE in Osceola and know the trails better than anyone. It would be closer to the end of may though. Bob, your big turd might not...
