  1. Affordable Off road rear bumper build / review

    Fabrication, Tools, Equipment
The hoist is clever, but a couple thoughts: 1) Now you need to figure out how to install a peg on all four corners... Seriously, getting the heavy tires/wheels on the axles is way harder on my back than getting the spare on the carrier. Unless crouching is more of a problem then bending, I'm...
  2. Gt40 pro comp heads from ebay?

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
Pro-Comp's are not GT40's, despite what the eBay ads would have you believe. Do some research before pulling the trigger... Most would say they're not a good purchase, but passable if you fully rebuild them.
  3. Paul Walker's Bronco at Barrett-Jackson

General Discussion/ Bronco and Wheeling related.
While not the big dollar highlight, the Bronco did get mentioned among the notables: https://www.topgear.com/car-news/movies/paul-walkers-e36-bmw-m3-just-sold-ps300000#1

Plus, if you fully rewire (re-pin) the engine harness junction, the end result looks fully factory. An overlay harness doesn't appeal to me, in comparison. However, if you can't find a MAF donor vehicle for the wiring and everything, that's another matter. I've only found one in three years.
  5. Fiberglass Insulation in Bed Area

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
Just put some food scraps back there. The rats will build a nest of insulation in no time. Work smarter, not harder!
  6. '95 Center of gravity / Tip over angle

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
This sounds like a great, "don't try this at home" experiment for a Hi-Lift jack. :) Backing out of my driveway extension, the transition is probably in the ballpark of 20°, judging from your pictures. It puts that tipsy feeling in the ol' gut, but the Bronco never feels close to unsettled.

And I would never put the no-drain factory pan back on. :) If I shared your concern about the aftermarket pans, the only route I would consider viable is getting an authentic Ford F81Z-7A194-BA pan. Also, consider the possibility that you got a bad Dorman pan, or maybe they were making them...
  8. Looking for a Tan retractable cargo cover for 96 EB

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
The good news is, tan is going to be one of the cheaper colors if you find one. The bad news is, it's a seller's market, so even the cheap ones are expensive. And they're 24-26 years old and not built all that well, so you're paying a premium for a ticking time bomb, unless you plan to spend...
  9. Your Junkyard Finds!

General Discussion/ Bronco and Wheeling related.
I spotted an '88 or '89 big block dually flatbed yesterday. Other than wishing the truck were still on the road (I don't recall what the damage was, but they were packed in too close to walk around it easily), nothing really jumped out to me as desirable. It had an A/C bypass pulley, similar...
  10. 1995 5.8L EB Auto Dies when shifter placed in Drive

I went with the Dorman 265-805 (Ford F81Z-7A194-BA / 4R100 equivalent) tranny pan and had no problem sealing it. It didn't seem any less solidly built than my no-drain original.

Sort of, but it's worse. A pop-up only occurs when you're visiting that particular site. A PUSH, as they're referring to it (there are other definitions, such as in APIs), occurs when you're on any site. It's like being woken by a spam phone call in the middle of the night..."why the ****...

They're those crazy annoying browser notifications that some sites try to trick you into saying yes to. They make about as much sense as opting into a robo-call list. It's funny you posted this, as today's security update was the first popup notification of the sort I received, when I hopped...
  14. Morgan's Liveaboard Bronco

General Discussion/ Bronco and Wheeling related.
My thoughts exactly. Once you raise the floor like that, you have no option but to be tiny if you want to move around in back. She's definitely industrious, but yeah, I was thinking it would be much better to go with a bigger platform or trailer. With all that stuff barely bungeed in back...

Hood latch or hood catch. I'm seeing lots of examples pop up at the top of the search results: https://www.google.com/search?q=ford+bronco+hood+latch&tbm=isch

Did you look up what those codes correspond to? 211 = Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) circuit fault 629 = Converter clutch solenoid circuit failure or lock-up solenoid circuit fault. The only 10 I'm aware of is for Cylinder #1 Problem in the Cylinder Balance Test Procedure.
  17. 1995 5.8L EB Auto Dies when shifter placed in Drive

    1980-'96 Bronco Tech
It's on the passenger side, placed stupidly low down by the AC/heater box. My immediate guess would be something with the IAC...not providing enough airflow in gear (at idle) to keep the engine running.

I assume the bench seat belts bolt to the floor, but you may still have them pulled through and dangling down below.
  19. center jump seat bracket interferes with seat belts

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
The first two pictures are Bronco seat belts for bucket seats. (They came out of the same '95 as most of my interior.) The next picture is from a bench seat, I believe in hindsight. I did eventually find one of the seat belt receivers from 40/20/40 seats; they also have the molded plastic...
