  5. Exhaust / Header questions

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
See that's an entirely different story. You should have prefaced your post with that little tidbit of info. :thumbup Myself and others are looking at this from the perspective of performance gains specifically tied to 80-96 Bronco's, not general theory. :whiteflag
  6. Exhaust / Header questions

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
Dude, you are making this sooooooooooo much more complicated than it needs to be. You are not going to notice a gain or loss of 5hp/5ftlb in a 5,000lb truck. You want gains? Concentrate on the heads and/or displacement, just make sure the exhaust is large enough to support the volume the heads...
  7. Header collector length question.

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
Yes. Header wrap is a great way to destroy headers.

  10. Header collector length question.

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
Only if you bent the primary so that the collector pointed under the transfercase. Out of the box the drivers side unit will point directly at the transfercase. Unless you delete the skid plate you will also need to go under it. Ask me hoe that looks......
  11. Header collector length question.

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
Your not understanding, there physically is no space to lengthen the collector unless you delete the transfer case. Even without lengthening the collector any gains from having long tubes are eliminated by the sharp 90* bend you have to make unless you delete or go under the transfer case. In...
  12. What is the stock cylinder heads on a 95 351w?

  13. 86-89 Dual Fuel Pump question

    1980-'96 Bronco Tech
In my experience, sometimes.... As long as the front pump can siphon past the in tank pump it will run, but like it has a clogged fuel filter. Any air in the system and it wont. Weak front pump, and you'll get nothing. In tank pump not letting fuel by, and nothing. I would say 90% of the time...
  14. '88 351w EFI rebuild... performance mods?

    1980-'96 Bronco Tech
Speed Density plays nice with basic mods up to the limit of 19lb/hr injectors. (After that your back to programming either way) Do's = Intake, heads, exhaust. Don'ts = Cams that have a lower LSA than 114*, changes in displacement beyond a mild boring. (No strokers)

  17. 5.0L Edelbrock Intake Installation article

    1980-'96 Bronco Tech
Actually the 351w/5.8L truck intakes oval ports are smaller than the 5.0 truck intake. The 5.8L truck intake is unique, in that it is the bottle neck before the E7TE heads. You wont get anything extra out of a 351w/5.8 truck engine without addressing the poor flowing intake first.
  18. 5.0L Edelbrock Intake Installation article

    1980-'96 Bronco Tech
The stock 302/5.0 Truck Intake flows more air in than can be pushed out the exhaust ports of factory E7TE heads. Heck, Trick Flows first intake was a modified 302 truck intake, Holly still uses a slightly modified version of the stock 302 truck lower as the lower for there "SystemMax" intake...

  20. My 89 rear diff.

Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone!
Hard to tell from the pics, but the one on the right looks badly pitted right where the seal rides. However, if the seals don't even touch the shaft then the pitting in irrelevant. Get some different seals and make sure they actually touch the shaft all the way around before you install them...
