So I decided to test out the new gauges in the Bronco and see if it would break a 100. Sure enough, it went to 105 then I had to let off. There was still some left in it for more but I was running out of real estate. :toothless It actually rolled out pretty good, no shakes or shimmies at all.

Actually with the 4.10's and 35's it didn't take long. Next time I'll bring the video camera.:thumbup

It looks like it was spinning around 4500 or so but it's hard to tell with the crappy camera phone pic. I didn't look at the speedo long.

You're gonna have to wear one of those helmet cams next time:rofl: How many percent did the digital gas gauge go down?

And your point is? If it had been a Corvette or Mustang it would of been OK right? I feel confident in my build to know that there would be no problem doing a run like that. It's not like it is a daily habit. Besides that I observed the road ahead, it is a flat stretch about 6 miles long in the middle of pretty much no where and there was no other traffic to worry about. It's not a run I would make in the 250 that's for sure.

I have not checked the mileage Mel but I am happy with them and they work out great for cruising. Personally I don't think 4.56 gears are necessary for a DD. If I were building a rig that was strictly off road I'd probably go with the 4.56's.

Have 4.10's and 35's on the 79 I use to pull my boat. Goes fine, trailering or not, with a very mildy built 400. I would not want to rock crawl with it though....

BTW, who makes that guage package?

Thanks ya'll. That's what I was thinking, too. I might play in the mud and try a trail or two, but the truck is not built for off-roading.

Sorry Scott, didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. ;)

Thats pretty cool Scott.

But there is no way in hell I'd want to be in my 77 F100 at 100....actually, I doubt the old 300 could get wound up high enough for 100. I've taken her up to 80 and still had some pedal left...but I wasn't brave enough to go any farther.

No problem Mel, I don't let the little stuff like that bother me.

The Bronco was quite stable as the speed progressed so I just kept on the throttle. I wasn't really worried at all pulling it off. Now the 250 with those big Cepeks, hah, 80 would be to fast for me in that one.

I like the disclaimer ;) :thumbup :histerica :goodfinge
That was to keep the naysayers out.:toothless
