grabbed a 130amp alternator from a pick & pull this weekend. mounting was extremely easy other than a had to get a fan/serpentine belt that was 1 size smaller than the one i had due to the pulley was smaller.

now comes the probably silly ??...
should i notice a different reading on the gauge, i was kindof expecting the gauge to read a little higher with this alternator??

on, i did take it to autozone for them to check verify it was good before installing it.

No. Only when the truck is using more than the old 95A alt. could put out.

:stupid

If you think about it for a sec. The truck electrical is supposed to be receiving whatever it is 13.4v. to keep the battery charged and running properly. You would not want it having more, but what you really don't want as Steve mentions is a small alternator that can't keep up with the draw and so can't keep up with charging the battery. 130A has more capacity to help ensure it can keep up, especially when your start adding things drawing amps.
