I'm starting a new project truck and it requires new wheels. I was thinking of getting 16" or 16.5". Is there any advantage to either one? Such as could I fit 1 ton brakes on a D44/8.8 axles? I know awhile back I was looking to swap in a D60 semi float and I found the drum brakes wouldnt fit a 15" wheel. But I dont know if it would fit the 16" or not. Of course I couldnt put a D60 in front with the 5 on 5.5 pattern, but could I put the D60 disc rotor on a D44? (and fit in the 16" wheel.

If you need new wheels, just suck it up and go with 17's. There not much more expensive and the pool of brands to pick from are endless. And you could put the 5x5.5 lug pattern on a 1 ton but there is a reason why they're 8 studs vs 5.

17's are high dollar tires they look cool but cut one and you'll need to knock over a bank to replace one. I'd say 16"s but thats cheap old me.
