What is the voltage suppose to be at the positive and negative side of the coil when running. Mine is 11 volts at the positive and 6 at the negative.

From memory, the resistor wire built in to the harness should keep the voltage between 10 and 11v at the coil positive while the engine is running. The exact voltage will vary and also depends on the resistor wire rating.

I've never tested the negative side of the coil. I asked a friend and he said between 6 and 7 at the negative was normal when the engine is running.

Ok mine must be ok then. My coil was leaking liquid from it so I changed it then wondered why it was leaking and thought maybe it was too much voltage.
