Been several years since I was last on the site, but finally getting around to starting a full blown restoration project on my 82' Bronco. Have it stripped down to cab and frame at the moment. I really want to swap out the dead 300 straight 6 manual transmission with a 351W and new manual transmission and have 2 questions:

1) Looking for recommendations on the best source to buy a fully built / "turn-key" 351W from (And I'm not looking for a crazy build, basically stock setup).
2) Best manual transmission to go with it that'll bolt up to my frame w/out any mods.

For any Bronco questions or to chat about it's planned modifications or build, it's better to post each seperately in Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone. This will get more attention and you can build up your post count to get into other sections such as Bronco and Ford Parts/Accessories (75 posts required to view). I will move this post to the Noobie section now to get your build rolling,

Best trancsmission… Monster transmissions can build you a hell of a transmission, or TCI depends on how far you want to go. As for turnkey without going crazy look at Jegs, or SUmmit they have good prices cheap or free shipping and blueprint and atk make some engines you can almost bolt in. Otherwise visit your local junk yard or pick a part, ebay, or let go etc. and find a 351 for a good price and have an engine shop rebuild it to your specs. Usually cheaper than a turn key engine as long as you get a good block. I have my 351 and I yanked it out of the body this morning took it down to the machine shop and for under 3500 they are doing a large part of the Stroker build for me. I just have to do heads and some other odds and ends when I get it back.
