Hello,

1984 FSB, 351W, stock C6 transmission.

I'm looking into the feasibility of swapping in an AOD from a 1991 F150 4x4. The AOD has the torque converter and auto transfer case.

Anything I should know before picking up the new transmission? I don't do any serious offroading and I'm looking to swap this in to get better highway mileage. Thanks in advance!

you'll need to use a flextplate from a crown victoria. They were the only vehicles that had a 351/AOD combo from the factory

I am doing a similar swap on my '89. The AOD is about 1.25" longer than the C-6, so I am planning on driveshaft(s) modification.

When I went from AOD to C6 I did NOT have to modify my driveshaft.
