4.9l 300 six with a 5speed manual. Truck was worming up and it died like it was out of gas. 1/2 tank of gas in bronco. get good spark and when I turn on the key the fuel pump comes on for a sec than goes off. took off the pressure cap on the fuel rail and there is no pressure at all with key on or off. stuck a nail in to relive pressure and nothing happens. When key is on and pump runs for 2-3 sec's fuel will treckle out but I thought it should spray all over the place.

well sounds like you have a problem in your fuel system.

If your pump is whining like that (as it should) then it atleast sounds like its running.

check your fuel filter, FPR, maby even your lines for a blockage of some sort.

when was the last time you checked your fuel filter? could be clogged the fukk up. if not then its sounds like you pump may be failing.
