Hey guys. So I have an 89 XLT that I recently acquired and am going through the wiring and connecting everything and noticed this orange ground looking wire. I was wondering where a good place to ground this would be? Thanks.

Where’s the other end of it, firewall? A good place could be at the top of the support brace for the upper intake plenum.
So it looks like it’s a one sided thing. I know that on my 88 I had a HEGO orange ground wire that came straight out of the computer so I’m assuming that this is the same only this one faces the front of the engine. The other one I mounted on the firewall but this one is facing the other direction. I was thinking somewhere on the lower intake. Just wasn’t sure if that’s a good enough material to ground to?

Yo Jcj92,
As MS88Bronc advised and after cleaning rhe ring terminal;
Firewall, inner fender liner as the starter relay uses for the ground, etc.

No, I was talking about the yellow that I circled in the picture above. That part mounts to the valve covers with 2 studs. The wire in your hand is sandwiched between the securing nut and another one above it. I don’t see the studs in your pictures
Ooh gotcha. Didn’t even realize that. Thank you 👍🏻
