Here's the story. My brother-in-law bought a 2001 mustang GT. On the way home the motor(?!) started ticking. One shop told him it was the timing chain and adjusters. Those were replaced with no difference. The local Ford dealer told him he was about to throw a rod and they would replace the crank and rebuild the bottom end for $2300. He went and bought a motor out of a wreck to just replace his. After we got the motor out we realized the throw-out bearing was bad. And we had an engine guy tell us that was the noise. It didn't tick all the time just right before it was time to shift. So now he has a 01 4.6 engine with 65k miles on it for sale. Ran great. It won't have the PS pump or the AC compressor but it has everything else. It's on a pallet and ready to go. He's asking $1500 for it. Let me know if you have any questions. A long story but i wanted you to know it.
