He is searching for pistons and found this

what about the 8.6:1 CR of the Federal Mogul TRW L2466F? Is it ok?

These are the ones they offer for the 351M.

There are too many differences for much interchangeability in those two engines.

BTW, I would go w/ a 400 if you can find a crankshaft. Since you are already replacing pistons, you could add an easy 49ci. by adding that crank and 400 pistons. It has been my experience your gas milage will be the same.

about the 400 i have done it recently, you can see my build. But this guy don´t want a bigger engine, so we are seaching for high CR 351 pistons.

BTW: I know to build a HiPo 400 is easier than a 351M

that is the new proiect

a 78 bronco with a MWM 4 cilinder diesel engine

the owner got a 351M that must to be rebuilded.


First he don´t wan´t to build the engine as 400 but I don´t know now.

Why would he swap out the diesel? Should have all kinds of torque and make decent mileage, too.

I will be going with a 6BT in mine, possibly a Powerstroke, I am a bit up in the air at the moment.

I can pick up a '97 F350 for ~$1500, so that may be the way I go.

Then I get the ZF5, D60 front and the engine.

it´s a small diesel, 229 MWM, and he wants a v8 engine

so we are seaching for high CR 351 pistons.

I don't recall ever seeing any 'high compression" pistons for the 351m...but if there ever were it would have been decades ago when Fed Mogul and TRW still made all sorts of usefull aftermarket piston designs that they stopped producing long ago.
