Everything I’ve read so far is very old, and on another thread a guy said he went to NAPA and asked for motor mounts for a 351w for his 1979 truck. I didn’t think they put them in the bronco in 78/79??

Has anyone done this swap, 351m to 351w? I know you need motor mounts for the “w”, but what about the towers? I already have the C6 sb tranny too. Problem is the motor mount on the driver side is hanging off about an inch, unlike the passenger side, and the valve cover on one side is closer to the firewall.
Is there a specific year motor mount!

Correct, 351w's did not come in the 78/79 Broncos. Your choices were the 351M or 400. Same bellhousing pattern as the big blocks (385 family). You might also measure the lenght of the C6 you grabbed for the 351w, Its probably a couple inches off, I noticed during a swap that the 78/79 Bronco 351M/400 set up is an odd ball length at the tailshaft. That's not a deal killer, just something you might look into before you're crawling around under there.
Motor mounts.... that I do not know. How about starting with windsor blocked 73-79 F150s and go from there? Might at least get you going with the perches/towers. I had a hell of a time figuring the perches and mounts out for an inline 300 cu 6cyl I was working on swapping to a bronc.

You need mount and perches from a 2wd F-150 with a 302.
Have not personally done the swap, but have seen and helped with one, that is what we did.

Though only being inches off. I would likely make my own "adapters" or mounts. But start with the HD engine mounts like JBG and Solo sell. Autofab may make a set of conversion mounts for this too.

I looked into doing this for my 78 bronco. There is a girl on U-tube who did it to her bronco. She is the one who drove to Alaska, I reached out to her she told me she would get me the motor mount part #'s, still waiting. I cLLED THE SHOP THAT DID THE WORK AND THEY TOLD ME THEY GOT A BUNCH OF MOTOR MOUNTS from NPD and found one set that lined up perfectly and she used a 4od over drive trans, Of course all her stuff was free for sponsor decals on her bronco. You are better off to get a 429[460 less hassle and drops right in.
