Are there two different types of 4.88s? I got this email from 4wdfactory.com...

"Yukon Gear 4.88 gears (thick for use with 4.56 and up case or locker) $229
Yukon Gear 4.88 gears(thin $145 for use w/ 4.56 case) $145"

I need the ring and pinion that will work with a Detroit Locker which is made for 4.56 and numerically hiigher gearsets.

I emailed the group buy guy that Zilla posted and he says that there is only one type.

Can someone please explain? is there a Yukon part number taht someone could find for me?

Thanks

Some gears makers make 2 different ring gears for use with split carrier gear ratio's. Say your thick gear is for 4.56 and numerically lower gears to make up the differance in pinion size. Less teeth = bigger pinion. It's a way for people to get by without buying a new carrier for gear changes.
