what diameter and how long is the vacuum line that goes from the rear of the intake manifold to the vacuum diaphragm unit on a c6? i think this is the culprit of my stall out every time i put it in gear. i completely forgot about this vacuum line..... DUH!!! :smilie_slap

if this wouldn't cause this problem, what should i start looking for? :shrug

If you look at the routing you're going to be doing, the line is going by the passenger exhaust pipe and the trans, two sources of heat. If not burning up the hose, I think it would at least soften it to the point of collapsing under vacuum.

ahhh ok gotcha

how long of a piece of steel tubing would i need?

That will depend on how you route it. 5' should do it. I'd suggest to go to the boneyard and pull one so you have the tab on it that supports it to the trans bellhousing bolt. There should be a clip on the side of the trans near the back that also supports the steel line.
