oh, the head bolts are rusted because the day I put the engine in, I drove it home with no hood and it rained all that night... my t-stat housing is rusted too...

How fast is your coolant level dropping? It doesnt look like it is leaking very much. I would give it some time to seal up, ive had engines do that before.

I just checked the radiator level,1st time in 1000 miles, it's about 5"-6" low.

ummm, not a good thing.

worst case, I'll warranty the assembly, But I just dont want to go though all the install again.... I might get dirty!....again! (the scared to get dirty part was a joke.)

I mean, It looks like its coming from the head bolt holes, and if I can, I'd rather get some ARP bolts and do the head gasket.

is there coolant anywhere else? when my water pump leaked due to bad sealing on my part it threw coolant back there. just a thought.

Based on the location I would say a cracked head. Based on the color it isn't from freezing. I would do a coolant pressure test, that should help pinpoint the exact location of the leak.

good call on the coolant pressure test. I will do it in the morning.

I would bet its eather A) from a head bolt hole. there open to the waterjacket, and need to be sealed. If not, they leak. Or B) A cracked head.

ok, checked all the plugs on that side. there is no coolant in the combustion chambers, so it is external of the cylinders. this is good news.

gonna go pick a cooling system pressure tester now.
