hey all, i was wondering how hard it would be to put a mustang 5.0 in my 1990 f150. its already got the truck 5.0 in it, but its got almost 200k on it. i would assume the mustang engine would fit the stock engine mounts and bolt up the the aod (if originally equipped of course). the major problem i see is the throttle cable and and trans cable. how would those need to be mounted?

Yes it will work. The easiest way to do this is to pull the intake off the truck and put it on the 5.0 mustang motor. Then it will drop in and hook right up. Make sure that you use the mustang distributor with the motor as it is a roller cam which is steel. The distributor gear needs to match the cam (steel to steel, or iron to iron). The truck motor I do believe is a flat tappet cam which is iron. Mixing these up can and will result in engine damage. But it's real easy to do and will work.
