My kid (27) is looking at a 57 F100 no power plant or transmission, needs floor pans, got some rust here and there, I’ll see about getting some pictures edited in in an hour or so, guy wants $1200. I’m going to go look at it with him this weekend as it’s local. What should I be looking for as potential problems in the vintage end for (can’t find) parts. And basic opinions welcomed.

Guess my kid had the for sale pics on his phone already so minutes, in stead of an hour or so.

My dad had a '60 when I was a kid so I'm partial to this body style. In the pix, doesn't look too bad for it's age. Looks like the rust on the FR fender is easy to fix with another fender. The rust in the cab corner.... well, it's rust. How's the floor? The bed looks decent, too. Big plus it the Big Back Window. The dash looks good. You know it's gonna need brakes, wiring, etc. Offer $600.

With rain coming in this weekend, I ran over to it today to see what was salvageable..... not much below the belt left, Swiss cheese. Here’s the few pics I took. If someone needs a parts truck with some good trim stuff left, plus good glass .. but we’re passing. Cab actually dropped enough from rusting away the doors won’t open. There also rotted out on the bottom. One front leaf spring is bent, and it’s got lots of Oregon coast lock tight everywhere underneath.

Cripes! The dude wanted $1,200?! I want some of what he's smoking. That's a parts truck at best. Depending on how much usable stuff was there, maybe $4-500.

That would make a heck of a rat rod. Can the body be mounted on a F150 frame?
Not sure but you wouldn’t need to unbolt it’s, just lift it off with all the rust.
