What do you guys think.
D44 HP front, 6" Coils
9" Rear, Leafs 4" Leafs
NP-205,
4.56 gears,
35" tires,

What manual tranny should I use.

Ok, I know it will come up so.
This is a friends project that we are starting.
PROJECT as in, we WANT to do it.
I know it's cheaper to buy a 4wd but this is what
we want to do.

So I need some feedback.
Thank you in advance.

not at all. any np435 out of a 78/79 bronco will have the bellhousing you need. infact, look for any np435 behind an M or big block in the 70's f series or 78/79 bronco. the t18 bellhousing maybe the same as well, im not sure. *if not, be careful, t18 and 435 are awful alike.

AFAIK FEs Have a different bell housing pattern than Ms and 385s.

My 67 f250 came stock with a 435&352, which is same pattern.

Nevermind. It has a divorced Dana 24.

I threw away a broke 435 outta my 390 '76 parts truck like a month ago, so those have the one you need too.

You're right, the 390 has it's very own family pattern, different from anything ever put in a bronco.
Ford patterns can basically be brokem into BBF (460,429,351M,400M), SBF (289,300,302,351W), FE/FT (330,332,352,360,361,390 & IIRC 427) there are a few other engnes that will drop into one of theses three patterns. but that's another thread ... also note that the FE/FT versions of the NP435 will have a larger input shaft (I believe they were 1 1/4" 10 spline) but as I'm not sure of the pilot diameter, I'm not sure if a swap to a more standard version is possible (should work if the pilots match, and the input shaft length matches the bell)
