For those of you who have done a frame off on a 78-79, or at least a body lift or body mount replacement, how did you successfully jack the body up off the frame without destroying anything? Multiple jacks and blocks of wood?

Start at the front, or the rear and work your way the opposite way (so if you start in the rear, work your way forward). Take out the rear two corner body bolts and loosen the rest up... jack up the rear corners enough to slide out the old bushings and install the new bushings... put the two new bolts in place and make snug but not tight. Work your way forward to the next two bushings and repeat... do this all the way to the front...
now start in the middle and torque down the middle two bolts, then move to Left Rear and torque, Right Front and Torque, Right Rear, Left Front, then the remaining bushings get torqued in a star pattern again... similar to torquing down a head.
