At Ranger429's request, I have started a build thread for my 79. Hopefully I can do a good as job as Scott did on his.

Here are some picture when I brought it home. I bought it from some guy who had bought it, had a rebuild 400 put into it, and he started to tear it down. (He only managed to remove the top and rear seat and loose them). After that it sat for 2 years, until his wife got tired of it taking up space in the garage and put it on Craigslist. I had been looking for a good canidate for more than a year when I came across it less than a mile from my house. I bought it for 1500 bucks, primed the carb and jump started it and drove her home. :beer

First thing I did was clean up the engine compartment so I didn't turn into a grease ball tearing it apart. Came out pretty clean after 4-5 cans of oven cleaner.

Yes that is my 77 highboy in the background. Here she is sitting on 40's with no lift.

Heres the tub after it was Sand Blasted. I only had a little rust on the tub. But both doors, fenders and rear tailgate had major dents in them. I found dent/rust free doors here locally. Matter of fact, bronc_17113 donated one of the doors. Plus he has actually stopped by the house and helped me with tear down. The Fenders and Tailgate I ordered of the web.

Got Some Goodies from the UPS driver today.

Stainless Hard Brake Lines from JBG

Emergency Brake Cables, Braided Stainless Brake Lines, and an Adjustable proportioning valve.

make sure to get the lines good'n tight or they leak..:toothless:thumbup

I also bought braided ss flex lines for a 4" lift (i think) and noticed I didnt have a use for the front axle hard lines.:doh0715:

This is the longest weekend ever - I got a call from the coater Saturday - he said the frame was done - but I couldn't get their in time to pick it up - So I have to wait until Monday - ARGHHH

Got the Frame back from the powder coater and front locker and leaf springs were delivered today. Just whish lift kit would show up so I can start putting it together.

Wow, nice. What was the cost to pwdercoat the frame if you don't mind.
