Ok this is messed up. I drive conservatively and I never get above 9 mpg. I have a 5.8 with EFI. I put in new spark plugs gapped to .055 with the msd coil. Also 9mm wires, msd rotor/cap. K&N cone. Stock exhaust. I have 31" mud tires and stock gears (3.55). E4OD, replaced all fluids (trans, diff, tc, etc)This is killing me slowly, NEED HELP/ADVICE!!!

Thanks.

yep... part of luvin' the beast that is Bronco is suckin' it up when it comes to mileage.

I got the same poor gas with my old 89: 351, 35 inc tires and 4:10 gears.
Now I drive something more gas price friendly.

If you want a Bronco that's good on gas... seek out a 6 cyl or a 302 with OD and stock tires. Other than that... your barkin' at the moon!

i swear i was pullin 14.1 with my 86, of course it had a new motor, trans, and i never got into it(well only to show off-typical teen), but if you drive it like a bronco not a stang youll get better gas

I'm sorry to bum you man but it's a bronco, get over it. I'm getting 5-6 MPG

What?! :shocked
A Bugatti Veyron with a 16 cylinder engine, 8 liters, just over 1000Hp gets more than that!?!
thats just wrong

anyways about the mpg you are getting, i had the same question. tons of information scattered on these forums and tons of help.

I think you can get just a tiny bit more mileage out of your rig, but not much. there is a member here named sixlitre who has been modding for economy. might be worth your while to read his profile and see what he did. don't expect much though, these are big trucks. BTW, the K&N cone will definitely decrease your economy. If you are wanting econ, you will prolly have to go back to the airbox and get a drop in k&n.

The 88 with the AOD I have down here in Philly traffic from hell gets 8.5. When I had the 92 with the M5OD down here for a month it got 13 (normal drivin back home gets me 15 with both). Both are 302s

The '84 351HO gets 5 :rockon

I've got a 90 with a 351w 5-speed, 32x11.5 and 3.55 gears. It used to have a 302. Both fuel injected. I got between 8-10 with the 302, and am now getting between 10-14, depending on how I drive. None of this is off road mileage which I don't even want to know.
