Recently purchased an 86 bronco with the EFI 302 - The engine had a knock so I replaced all the rod/main bearings. NONE of them were spun, and had the appropriate oil clearances. Started the motor up and it still has the noise, but I just noticed that the engine is "missing" too. Like its only running on 7 cylinders.
So, do you think bent pushrod, dead lifter?? I kinda took off the passenger side valve cover enough to where I could get my fingers to the rockers and had a friend turn the engine over... All the rockers were moving as they should. The sound seems to be coming stronger from the passenger side. Any ideas?? THANKS!!
