I spent alot of time researching on this engine swap and was pretty confident when I started it but I've just came upon some conflicting information. Im putting the efi 351 out of my 1990 bronco into my 1986 f250 which had a efi 302. The wiring harness for the 302 should plug right into the 351 and then I would just have to plug in the 351's computer and Im good to go, right? I just got done reading that the wiring harnesses are interchangeable from 87 up, that the 86 was different. Is that true? Thanks for the help.

Around 86 things changed a bit. If your Bronco was made late in the year you might get lucky, but I have not found anyone that has. Check the wiring diagrams from the two and see if they line up. You may get lucky.

There are some inherent differences between the 302 and 351 that you need to be aware of. If you have not read this thread you may want to check it out.

Depending on what you find out after looking at the diagrams and how accessible you wiring is, you may want to just swap out the wiring harness as well. Once you get it separated from the accessory wiring it is not that bad.

Also, you may want to search a lot. You may find a little info here and there that adds up to the answer you are looking for.
