went to change my plug wires the other day and realized that the firing order doesnt match the firing order posted on my intake air box sticker. I know i have a 302 5.0 engine i checked my VIN to make sure it was supposed to have a 302. I knew the previous owner and he swears he never changed the cam, and isnt there more to it to changing the firing order besides just the cam like a different intake manifold( EFI by the way) or computer or crank? I would definatly like some info on this and how i can benifit from it

No, intake manifold has nothing to do with it. Your cam designates your firing order.

Maybe the engine was swapped by a previous owner?

What do you mean, how you can benefit from it?

Its eather a later truck motor, a swapped in HO, or had a cam swap. The truck 5.0's in that year did not have the 351 /HO firing order.
