The motor spins but appears to be getting no fire, Should I check coil wire first of plug? It seems to be getting fuel. It ran fine on the way to work but wouldn't fire up at the end of the day. Like I said it spins but won't fire up. Thanks

1). Check coil for spark (try using a 16d nail into the wire cap female end, and then get the nail within a quuarter inch or so of ground---like the valve cover or something).

2). If your coil is firing, then do the same check with one or two plug wires. Then report back.

3).Very important! A coil may 'spark', but that won't tell you if it's old and weak. Trust me, 3 different mechanics couldn't diagnose my starting/running problem, even with all their so-called knowledge. So I popped open the Haynes book and figured it out myself in 20 minutes. There's a lesson here, but I already forgot what it was........:smokin:
