this all started with this truck back in 2005. my dad and uncle started WEEKEND 4 WHEELERS when i was a kid and i fell in love with 4wds. i bought this truck for 800 bucks, put a motor in it and wheeled the crap out of it. got married had a beautiful redheaded lil girl and had to sell it for a car......

dont know whos rig this is but i saw it about 4 years ago and have been hooked on the broncos ever since. (if this is ur rig i love it!!!)

89 bronco. bought this thing feb of last year. drove it for about a month but only on 15min drives to and from work. drove it to the south side of town one day (about 22 miles) and my oil gauge was fluttering. bought a manual gauge and had about 5psi at 55mph. so i pulled the motor....

the day i got it

and about a month later

so i sent the block into mission, had them do the machine work and got it back and painted it lime green

went to city motors and traded in my heads for some new high output heads jamminzz

took it to my brother inlaws and started puttin this thing together

and now

just bought a new winch and some lights and picked up the grille guard for 20 bucks!!:rockon

o yeah and i just bought 2 33/12.50r15 duratracs and love them in the mud

Thanks. i got 2 lil girls and a wife. 2 dogs and bills up to my ears. so this will be a slow built. future plans i want to get rid of the 8.8 and the ttb for a 9" and dana 44 or some f250 axles. i will be building some rock sliders soon. and im gonna trash that rear bumper for something that wraps around for more protection

1200 bucks. but if there is a city motors near you you can swap your block as long as its rebuildable with 5 or 6 hundred bucks and get a stock rebuilt motor with a warranty just FYI. im picky...

yeah but i wanna swap axles more than lift.. so i will be doing a sas with a lift all at the same time. thats why i just got 33s for now. i run a 4wd club so i have to at least run 33s til i build/find axles for it

she runs like a brand new truck. shifts great and with these new tires im super happy with the "red headed step child". next project is the windows. some motors work (2) but the gears are worn out and the driver door is out completely, then i got to get the a/c leak fixed. after that i wanna find a parts bronco with 3.55s so i can get rid of these 3.08s. then....... lift kit time!!! 4" rough country. im on a budget!!

as for the engine drop day... yeah my club members where gonna come help but they got lost that morning mudding and one got stuck and they all showed up late. of course by that time there wasent much left to do but they did their parts. one tightend the flywheel bolts, exhust, ect while others drank beer and pointed..

since i used the cig lighter to wire my cb radio in the ash tray area. my wife has been on my butt about putting in another cig lighter for her cell phone charger. so here it is

i wired it to the fuse box

grounded it here

this is where the cb ended up and i love it.

Nice - it's unbelievable how many power outlets you need these days - GPS, iPod, FM modulator, 2 cell phones, inverter for laptop, etc. And if you have kids in back you can add more cell phones, playstations, dvd players, etc.!!!

Do you think 3 additional is enough? lol

yeah i was wonderin if i needed to put in a fuse..... what size fuse like a 2A or 3A?




well i got the exhaust leak fixed. it started leakin about a week after i droped the new engine in. and since i had brand new gaskets i figured it had to be the y pipe, or the tube for the EGR valve..... nope it was the brand new gasket.

found this thing real handy for workin on the truck. its for a tape and floater. i got it free. now its a bronco work stand.

gotta remove the smog crap to make it easyier to get to the gaskets

got the new gaskets in. doubled up on the gasket this time because i have a feeling the manifold is a lil warped. my hope is with the two gaskets it will have more cushin to seal the manifold if it is warped a bit

drove it around (about 10 miles) no leaks!!

also replaced the temp gauge sender now my gauge works!!

Stock is 15A for a single socket or 30A for a socket & the horn, but don't exceed the capacity of those new wires.

I think you're heading for more leaks & an even-worse-warped manifold. I'd pull it off, check it with a long file, and if it's bad, have a machine shop plane it, then install it like the factory did:



If you keep driving with double gaskets, you run a serious risk of breaking the manifold, or warping it so far that it can't be planed.

hmmm well ill think about it. i have been a ford guy for a lil while and i have herd debates on this topic from both sides of the fence. some guys say that the factory way is stupid and that i needs a gasket. others say to do it with the sealant like the factory since the factory dident even come with gaskets. my black ford at the top of my build thread. i ran doubble gaskets on it for ever (3 years) and it was fine. never leaked. i dont know if it is warped.. that was just a precaution i took to double up on it like ive done before. but like i said its worked for me in the past. and i have herd both sides of this debate. im not for or aginst. i still wonder what is truely the best way. if the worst that can happen is a cracked manifold.... ill take the risk. i can get another one if needed. i got parts out the ying yang. i just gotta dig for em.
