I have a 92 5.8L in a F-150 Step side. When you start it up it automatically shoots to 1500-2000rpm and just idles all day at that. A few friends said to spray some brake cleaner around and see if the intake leaks or if vacuum lines are afray (which we have already found a couple of).

I figured I'd try on here because you guys never let me down!

Thanks!

also it doesn't run very well when actually driving, cuts out pretty bad and doesn't have much power

The IAC is known to stick. You could remove it and clean it out with brake clean. Ive also replace the one on my lightning because it would idle over 2000 rpm.

Alright, I'll be doing that this morning, probably that rather than the vacuum leaks or intake gasket? That would probably cause a lack of power too because it's getting too much air at higher rpms right?
