MY QUESTION IS IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS ISSUE WITH THEIR IDLE SPEED:
WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED WHEN IT IS AT NORMAL OPERATION TEMPERATURE THE IDLE IS @ 1000 RPM AND WHEN I TAP THE GAS PEDAL IT COMES DOWN TO @ 600, IT ACTS VERY MUCH LIKE A FAST IDLE KICK DOWN ON A CONVENTION CARBURETOR.
WHEN STARTED COLD IT GOES TO @ 1200 RPM AND THEN STARTS DROPPING AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND FINALLY REACHES @ 800 BY ABOUT 60 SECONDS.
WHEN IT IS WARMED UP I JUST ALWAYS TAP THE GAS RIGHT AFTER IT STARTS TO GET IT TO 600, IT JUST SEEMS STRANGE TO ME THAT IT DOESN'T START AT 600 WHEN IT IS WARM.
OTHER THAN THAT IT RUNS PERFECT AND IS IN GREAT CONDITION, MAYBE THIS IS JUST A TRAIT OF THE EEC-IV SYSTEM. THIS IS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH FORD COMPUTER CONTROL SO ANY INFO FROM YOU FORD TECHS OUT THERE IS HELPFUL.
THANKS IN ADVANCE !
