could be a vacuum leak or idle air control valve, take carb spray or break clean spray all vacuum lines and intake manifold gasget areas, if the idle starts to stumble you found a leak, fix it. make sure linkage is all good as well, probably ok but might as well check, kinda hard to check idle air control with out scan tool, im sure there is a way to do it with a volt meter as well check your book if you have one it will tell you how to test it...

You can test the IAC with a volt meter. You can find the procedure in a Hayne's Manual or searching through FSB.

I'd start with pulling the trouble codes first and see where that leads you. :thumbup

'95 revving

Its a '95 XLT with the 5.8L, it has close to 300K miles, it just starts revving up on its own after a couple minuites, just thought someone had this problem and they rememered what it was
