hello all, my ac compressor on my 1990 ford bronco keeps on seizing up making the belts and compressor smoke. is there any quick fixes to this or am i forced to rebuild it.

Is it locking up with the A/C on? Try unplugging the clutch... then hit the junkyard and grab another one? Check and make sure the pulley isn't out of alignment or the whole thing isn't a loose wobbly mess.

yea, i tried wd 40 and turning the ac on and it still seizes up. i was searching around and the best option for me is to buy a by pass pully to replace the ac compressor. this may sound newbyish but is there any instructions or tips on how to easily get the ac compressor off?

does it do this when you use your A/C or just any time?

If any time, your bearings in the compressor pulley are shot. You can try to replace them, get a new/rebuilt A/C compressor or run a shorter serpentine belt, but i have no idea what size you will need.

its all the time unfortunately. im installing the by pass pulley today.

you could of just unplugged the compressor. Then it wouldn't of turned on.
