A DRO is nice, especially on a mill. All the Bridgeport's at school had em, as did a couple of the bigger lathes.

I fired up the old SouthBend and made a reverse pedal extender to get full speed in reverse for my JD 425.

2'' stock Aluminum with a 3/4'' long shank and a grooved and domed head. Shank is threaded 8m with a 1.25 pitch, the bolt is in the hollow pedal.

Now the pedal goes 3/4'' past the floor which is full speed.

Haha I know exactly what you are talking about. The old JD 455 was the same way. I would pull up on the forward pedal, which would in turn make it go faster in reverse, due to the way a hydrostatic transmission operates. The new 1025R doesnt work the same way for some reason.
