I see all of you guys have a picture or image of some sort to the left of each post under your public profile. How to put one of those?

ok. at the top of the page there is a link that says user cp, control panel. its an avatar. should be on that user cp page on the left there is a link for avatar options. i cant remember the size image you need. 36x36? 45x45?
