I did a lot of searching and did find some info..

Well I've read on 87+ that if the sending unit goes bad the gauge reads full.. (Which is what mine is doing)

My question - It was working fine.. Bronco died on the freeway.. Shut off and wouldn't start. Had it towed to the mechanic gauge was still reading fine.. They did something to it and now the gauge is pegged full.. Is there something they could have done to kill the fuel sender unit?

I've noted the tape I had covering the splicing I did is gone so I'm wondering if they messed something up and change the wiring..

Thanx..

A short will make the gauge read Full. It is possible that they did something to short out the gauge lead.

Also an open in the sending unit wiring will make the gauge show fuller than full.
