Just wondering what the rpms my truck should be at 50mph.

I was just wondering because i was doing 50 and the rpm gauge was at 2500rpm.

I got 32x11.5x15in tires and did not know if it is making a difference.

My truck is a 90 with the AOD.

Ok good.

Also was just reading on the adjustment thing for the AOD something with the cable.

How do i know if it needs to be done? Or is it something you just randomly check?

I just got layed off so i am just keeping myself busy and making sure this truck i just bought is up to par.

Thanx Again.

I was wondering the same thing about my 94EB w/351 & e4od.
I can hold 1800rpm at 70mph on the xway going to work,
but it climbs to 2000 at 40 going up hill.
Is this too low ?

I am guessing it is holding 2k goen up the hill because its holding that gear longer.

Sounds about right to me.

Sounds bout fine to me.
Um, no. Not even remotely. :twak

FBL, are you even serious or did you even read what he posted...

You're not going into overdrive or something.

With 32" tires x .67 OD gear x 3.55 gears x 1:1 tc ratio @ 2500 rpms, you should be doing 100MPH. You've got something wrong. Is your torque converter locking up, and can you feel it go through each gear?

Need more information about your truck, what size tires are you running?

1800rpm at 70mph sounds like you have 33" tires, and you're in overdrive, which is fine.

2000 at 40mph sounds like you're in second and still accelerating. Sounds okay, but you'd have to give more information.

It shifts fine threw the gears.

It shifts smooth with no problems. as well as downshifts with no problems.

So you saying i should be around 1900 t0 2000 rpms.

AOD, 3.55 gears, 31"s

See if you match that, but it sounds like you are in 3rd not 4th

looks about right but my truck dont get up to speed like that.lol.

It must have been just that i held the gas right before it was ready to shift.

It happened yesterday in our ice snow storm. and i had to keep leting off the gas and on.

i must not gave it enough to make it shift into the next gear.

If that makes sense.
