Damager, that's the same exact model I have. It has the sound tracker noise filter feature on it right? Mine has been decent, I have some sort of intermittent problem where I can transmit but it won't receive. I talk with an expert CB radio guy, and he told me Cobras are known for getting the insides rattled around, the boards can develop cracks in them which will cause this problem. The only other thing I would be concerned about is that he had it on a boat. Non-marine CB's don't like any kind of water. Also make sure you have a good antenna, preferably a tunable one and you're good to go.

thanks .. I thought about the fact it was on a boat, but for $40 I figured I would take a shot and check it out :shrug ..

I'm gonna get a Firestik II that is tunable, so that should help

Yeah I believe the 18 wsxt has the PA output, marine radios do operate on a different frequency but this guy evidently used this one on a boat anyway..This isn't a marine radio though.
