I am currently looking ofr a set of reasonably priced rims and tires for my truck. I want to upgrade to 33 x 12.5 on I guess 15 x 7 inch rims? Does anyone know if they will fit? I am going to use a 3 inch body lift at first until I can afford a suspension upgrade.

You will need at least a 15x8 wheel to run a 33x12.50. I might have a set or original rally rims for an 84 for sale. I pick the truck up Saturday so I'll let you know after that.

BS, they can be run on a 1x7. it might wear funny, but it will work just fine.

ok so I currently have what I believe are the 15 x 7 alloy rims. So I can squeeze 33 x 12.5 on there? Some shops tell me no way, and others tell me you can but the middle will wear on the tires. I can buy new 15 x 8 american racing alloys for like 100 each. Maybe I will just leave my rims on and just buy 33's to put on them. Will a 3 inch body lift be enough?

Yes, a 3 inch body lift will be enough.

I never knew a 33x12.50 would mount on a 15x7 thanks for the info.

I just bought a set of 5 Allied wheels from Les Schwab for $385, mounted and balanced. They are 15x8, and you can mount a 33-12.50 on them. You can also get them in 15x10. They look great on my truck, I wish I had some pics. Its hard to beat $45 a wheel for chrome steelies.

I can get steelies, 15x8 or others. Also everything from 4wpw cheaper than the website. Dont mount a 12.5 on a 7 wide rim it will bulge so much to the sides. :twak Got 33x13.50x15 on 15x10 chrome rims mounted and balanced, you can still read the word swamper on the lugs.

For everyday use I got 235-75, and two sets of 31s for offroad I got the 33s. All mounted and balanced.

Hell, if you came to me and asked me to mount them I would refuse you. Pretty dangerous just for somebody who doesn't want to buy rims. I have 20+ ford 5 on 5.5 rims and none are 7in wide.

This is my 4Runner. The tires on it are 33x12.50 MTR's. They are mounted on STOCK 4Runner rims. They are 6.5 or 7 inches wide. I have had no problem. They are at 20psi. I've had them down to 10 psi.

Your not going to have any problems. If it makes you feel better I am going to be getting 35x12.50 all terrains for my Bronco to replace the 37" MTR's. I will be mounting them on my stock bronco 15x7 rims.

Hard facts please, not opinions. Why shouldn't a 12.5" wide tire be mounted on a 7" wide wheel?

Pic of my tires in case you're wondering what a 12.5" wide tire on a 7" wide wheels looks like-
