Ok, so I have acquired an automatic transmission shift column complete. My orignal set-up was a manual transmission. The PO installed the 460 with C6 auto and B&D floor shifter. I want to install my "new" column and return the shifting to the steering column freeing up that floor space. I don't even see the column in my manual. Do I need some special linkage or cables?

You need the metal rod that goes from the column to the linkage on the trans.

On my 78, there was a "bellcrank". that the column rod connected to, then another rod to the tranny.

not to mention the kickdown rod from the carb linkage down to the trans.i guess your best bet would be scouring the junkyards for both pieces.

Thanks, I haven't had a chance to go look yet, got called into work today. Hopefully I can scoot over when I get off tomorrow.
