Hey all, it's been a while. After going without a bko for a while I decided I wanted one again. Craigslist watchers may recognize this white 96 bko was for sale in Long Beach since 25 Nov. The seller was asking 2K which I was happy to pay but I missed out by a day or so to another buyer. The seller was nice enough to inform me it was sold and that was it. So, the next day on a hunch I browsed CL again and sure enough, a flipper had bought it, and within minutes of buying it proceeded to relisted it for 4400. I contacted the flipper and we settled on 3900. One nighttime trip to La Mirada late tuesday night/wednesday morning and it was back at my place in the Antelope Valley.

It feels good to be back!

Yo H,
Welcome back with that nice 96!
ASAP, determine if cruise control, if equipped, recall work completed by dealership. Call dealer & have VIN ready.

Base model XL. Cruise control is my trusty foot. Thanks for the mountain of links I will be running them down for a while!

Welcome yourself! Just don't leave. You think you are out and they suck you right back in.......or come crawling back like I did.........

Looking good. Too bad bout the flipper dude.
Its all good, I wanted the bko so I was the mark this time.

First oil change and tire rotation. Also my first look at the ugly side. This bko was sold new in Denver CO and spent about 10 years there before comming to Cali. There is rust but not bad.

This was weird. Heres the TTB with the optional front shock mount.....

....and here is the spring bucket with no place for the front shock. Anyone know why? Ford using up parts at the end of Bronco production?

This hole in the airdam probably has a funny story, not that I will ever know why

After putting the bko back on its wheels. This would have been funny for the people in the shop, but not me. I am on this step ladder leaning on the grille about to pour the oil in from this jug with both hands..........and Bronco starts to roll backwards. I almost dump 5 quarts of synthetic oil all over and fall. I had left the trans in neutral and the parking brake off to check brakes. Still getting used to a stick shift bko. Lucky I caught myself before someone else had a different picture on their phone.

And finally the extra effort to check things pays off. Rear drum on the drives side put up a fight comming off so I knew it was time to spend more money. This brake lining had separated from it's shoe. I have never seen this before. Lucky me!

As a bonus the drum is shot too. I am just going to get shoes and drums for both sides instead of hoping I got lucky on the passenger side, since it's probably toast also.

Thanks for the welcome back everyone! Now I am off to browse Solo Motorsports online catalog
