I searched and came up empty.
This is a stupid question but i run stock suspension and wheels and want to run 33-12.5's. I want to backspace so they don't rub at all. How do I back space, where do i get a kit for it, and how much is needed.:banghead

back space is actually the measurement from the edge of the rim to the center portion of the rim where it bolts to the vehicle...only way of changing that would be with spacers or custom wheels...

There is no way to safely remove ALL rubbing of 33's but drawing out your steering stops will help. Less backspacing will put your tires sticking way out, may get you in trouble with the law, and it puts a larger strain on your wheel bearings and BJ's.

There is basically a bolt on each steering knuckle.. turn your steering wheel to full turn, and you will see the bolt hitting the axle housing. When you adjust this bolt, it allows for more or less turn radius. In other words, you would have to decrease your turning radius some to compensate, but turning that bolt out some.

The stops: Cut your steering the the right all the way, get out of truck and look where your axle is straight and your knuckle is pointing about 45* to the right. There should be a bolt with about a 3/4" head on it sticking out maybe 1/4" if you loosen them up on both sides it will stop your wheel earlier, therefore probably keeping you from rubbing, but you wont be able to turn as tight.

Stick out further: Look down while watching Rosann barr on TV, now look down while watching porn.... thats sticking out further

The law: Guys who where blue/black uniforms and drive Crown Vics. They have pretty blue and red lights that flash on top sometimes.

Larger strain on BJ's and Wheelbearings: Cantiliever effect, loosen rusty bolt with 4" long wrench, loosen same rusty bolt with 1/2" breaker bar, 17" long and a 3 foot pipe on the end; puts more torque to the bolt in the center doesnt it??? This isn't that big of a deal because 33's arent that big though.

buy new ones, or spacers. Spacers are extremely dangerous, 50x moreso then lift blocks.

Adjust the bolts out to a comprimising amount of rub and a some amount of turn and be done with it then. I just don't turn my wheels that far and pull into parking spots accordingly.
