My 89 FSB has a auto tranny issue, well maybe. I put a tranny once in my Saab 900 Turbo because it obviously would no longer move, but before then a Saab tech told me that if it doesnt lock into gear when you move the selector, like a clunk, then it is probably goin out, this is when the car would still move. It would only clunk into R, not forward. Well my FSB does the same thing, but it always has since I bought it 3000 miles ago. After I bought it, I put a new engine 351W in it, and replaced a lot of engine stuff, including the torque converter since it was accessible easily with the engine out, I put in a 1600 stall that cost around 100 bucks at a local auto store. But my truck feels weird, but it may just be that way, it seems like you have to step into it hard to get it goin, I didnt really think it was wierd til my GF drove it and mentioned it. But should it clunk in D as well as R, it really really clunks when goin into R, but kinda glides into D, almost cant feel it. I dont notice any slippage though when moving the truck. Someone once told me about a TC that locks? Maybe I put a cheap converter in? It is a super truck though, im just curious if my next move may be a tranny.
