BajaBronco13's new addition to the stable

I found this Bronco on ebay. I waited until the last 20 seconds of the auction and still got outbidded. I had spent the last few days before the end of the auction corresponding with the seller. As luck would have it the winning bidder was a flake and seller contacted me. The truck was delivered to me in the OC from Hesperia today. Nice that I didn't have to make that 200 mile round trip.

I'm really happy with this new Bronco. It's a 1995 XLT all blacked just like my current Bronco. The only difference is that my daily driver has tan interior and this new rig has grey which is one of the reasons why I purchased this ride.

Here are a few stats:
1995
5.8 with 79,000 original miles
One owner
vehicle is in awesome condition, check it out.

Future Plans:
Mount my Solo Motorsports gear (radius arms and beams) I was saving for my Class 3 build. Deavers and Solo shackles.

Cosmetic:
Limo tint all the way around. Have the entire truck detailed.

Oh by the way, the seller knocked down the price by $500.00 if he could keep his wheels. He sent the truck with a nice set of rusty rollies, lol.

It's not a rat rod...it's a BAT ROD. And a 4 door one to boot.
Any lck at pick a part? I been needing to go look for an alcoa for a spare. Yeah, I know, good luck finding that but they have to show up sometimes.
I did find a full set of Ford Bronco OEM wheels but they had the rivet style not the completely smooth OEM wheel. I passed on them but my buddy has pulled some smooth OEM Aluminum wheels from that Pick Your Part yard. I just picked up a 96 chrome grille and some interior panels.
I hope you guys had a good 4th. I lite off a few fireworks and enjoyed some bacon wrapped hot dogs baja style. :)

That's your update??? I hear that you have been going to Johns shop picking up parts, i was hoping to see some long travel goodness!

btw. glad you had a good 4th vato!

btw#2 i hope you have the phone number of a good cardiologist after eating those things...
Come on Nick, you know those dogs look tasty. Damn the long travel stuff I've been looking at is going to drive me broke. Even the cheap stuff isn't that cheap.
I mus say, those dogs do look good!!
So I pulled out an extra set of 35s I had in the garage to put them up against the four door. Should I go with 35s or bump up to 37s? The game plan is four inch wider beams per side with coilovers.

Here is a pic up against my 285/75/16 BFGs:

If I decide to run 37s I have a set of six Hummer wheels I'll be using:

Good old Ford engineers must have know people would bend and extend these beams:

Those beams are cast and should not be welded or bent. The earlier beams were forged and it was common practice to bend them for alignment. Although you can weld cast if you do the right process and use nickel rod I would still avoid it on a suspension piece.

That is one of the reasons I have not built beams for my truck yet.

I would go with 35" tires. I regret jumping from 35" tires to 37".
You're right Philo on the beams. I maybe sourcing out a set of Econoline beams to extend.

I remember you telling me about jumping up to 37s plus I'm running a 460 gas engine which I'm sure is going to eat up gas like crazy.
The 35s look great Chris!!! I say start there....
I think it'll look good with either tire.

The cast beams can still be bent, you just have to know what you're doing. I would just use the D50 or HD D44 beam ends to build the beams. That way you can cut and weld on them with ease.

That's my plan. I ended up with a D44HD set since I didn't know what I was looking at in the junk yard.

My truck also has a 460/E4OD combo with 37"s and 4.11 gears (needs 5.38). I get about 6-8 mpg.
What is your thoughts on converting from 8 lug to 5 lug wheel patterns? I want to go with 5 on 5.5 so that they match my other two Broncos so that I can always have a spare set of wheels in case I need them. I'd run 5/8 lugs so I welcome your thoughts.

I've seen a Centurion crew cab short bed that was five lug. It's used an 8.8 and a D44 TTB up front. I would def want a FF 9" or have hubs built that convert the sterling to 5x5.5. On the front a D44 snout is actually stronger than the 3/4 ton 2wd one but you end up with smaller brakes. I would look into the T-bird swap if I used those ends. I would avoid any beam that uses a 1/2 ton 2wd end. Remember, Broncos don't stop all that great with their braking system and your four door is probably 1500lb heavier.
Philo any useful links to the T Bird Swap? Sorry for all the questions but thank you for responding.

I think the 35's look good at that ride height.
Sorry, I don't have any. It's not something I have experience with, I've just heard about it on this forum. Anyone want to chime in?
