So now that we have an official wheels/tires section i figured i would post this here. I bought a set of factory 92-96 aluminum rims to currently mount my 35's on. My 84' came with steel rims and have surface rust on them. I was thinking of getting them sandblasted and welding on those "do it yourself" beadlock kits they sell and was wondering how many people have done it before and is it fairly easy/self explanatory? Welding isn't new to me so that's no problem. Just cut off the lip, weld on the plate and bolt on the other plate to sandwich the tire to the bead?

Thanks! I figured I might as well still use the rims and beef them up

Mine are Creative Engineering Offroad. Great beadlocks. Even got to do design design the pattern myself for only $25 extra.
