Not sure if this is even possible or if im asking a dumb question. Always liked the broncos just not found many available but i was able to get this 1996 Ford f150 XLT 4x4 with the inline 6 engine. Exactly what I was after. Now I am not saying I am going to do this but I know its pretty simple getting these beds off since i have done it for exhaust work and getting rust off and repainting frame- BUT my question is what are the dimensions of this truck bed vs a Ford Bronco Truck bed? If i found one am i able to take it and swap it right out for the Bronco bed? Comparing pictures it doesnt look like it because the wheel well starts alot close on Bronco than my truck. Just curiousity more than anything. Any input would be great

A truck is a truck cab, & a bed.
A bronco is nothing like that, its all welded together like the body of a car. Here is a Bronco Body you can look at for reference. If you want a bronco, sell your truck & buy a Bronco, cuz what you are thinking is way off base.

The wheel base ( as you observed ) all by itself will prevent the swapping of chassis under the Bronco.

The Bronco and the F-150 are exact matches ( of the same generations ) from the rear edge of the doors then forward. Behind the doors and back they are different vehicles all together.
You can swap parts around from the doors forward, but not much else. Maybe the differentials are the same, not sure about that though. Everything else in the back is non compatible.

This is how you turn your F-150 into a Bronco like thing in six easy steps!

1. Buy a camper shell
2. Cut out the front of the bed
3. Cut out the back of the cab
4. Cut out the front of the camper shell
5. Put lawn chairs in the bed
6. Duct tape all seams between the cab, bed, and camper shell.

i knew some were like that but when looking at the one at the top of this website for example, it look like two seperate pieces. i know they have broncos made for seats but other broncos i thought were just standard truck beds. again i said it may be a dumb question i just wasnt sure if it was all solid piece or two pieces.

No, all Broncos have a fixed "bed". It's all one piece from firewall to tailgate opening and people often refer to that as the "tub" like if they say they plan on swapping in a new "tub".

But for shizz and giggles, if you're wanting to know the size difference between your truck's bed and a Bronco's bed, I can probably give you a decent visualization.

My Bronco and truck are a little older than what you're looking at, but should be pretty close in dimensions. Your truck looks like a short bed, which for '96 is a 116.8" wheelbase according to google. My truck's wheelbase is 117" according to my warranty plate on the door. My 78 Bronco has a wheelbase of 104" (according to the warranty plate), so that's a difference of 13" in wheelbase between my Bronco and truck. Here's my Bronco's topper on my truck's bed. That's a rough visualization of how much longer your truck bed would be compared to a Bronco "bed".

But like everyone else has informed you, you can't just unbolt a Bronco "bed" and swap it to another vehicle. That'd sure make quarter panel replacement and lot easier though. lol

Yo MrGreenXLT,
Section 01-01: Underbody
1996 F-150, F-250, F-350, F-Super Duty and Bronco Workshop Manual
ADJUSTMENTS
Underbody Misalignment Check
The dimensions of the underbody must be restored in repairing major body damage to provide correct front and rear wheel geometry. Refer to the Underbody Dimensions diagram for the underbody dimensions. All the dimensions are detailed to the centerline of existing holes in the underbody assembly. Once the frame and suspension members are aligned, other operations in this section can be performed.
Underbody Dimensions
NOTE: All dimensions are true point-to-point in inches. Measuring can be performed using the Rotunda Complete Laser Measuring System 190-01025 or equivalent.

Door openings are checked in the same manner as the body. Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal checking points are established on all four sides of the door opening that is being measured.
