Best alternator option?

I've finally gotten around to cleaning up some wiring from the PO and traced an oddly spliced wire all the way back to the choke. Turns out my alternator wiring isn't completely working so the PO jerryrigged it.

I'm going to go ahead and replace/upgrade the alternator instead of trying to futz with the odd one that is in there. Any suggestions on the best alternator to convert to for a carb'ed 351 W? I wouldn't mind having a little extra current to work with but I'm not looking to do anything radical.

I heard BBB New Vision-OE N77059 100 AMPS W/ PLUG $96.79 is very good.

BBB IS WELL-REGARDED for their remanufactured 4WABS control modules and pumps.

4WABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) Sources "...Used price locally is $150.00; 60 day guarantee; Babaganoosh wrote; "...BBA did the rebuilds on ABS Modules for my old VW/Audi Shop. They were super inexpensive, fast, friendly, and only had one issue with them ever and it was 50% my fault anyways (keep in mind it's VW stuff anyways...". by consensus the best re man 4WABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)s are from bba-reman.com; BBA quotes $200 plus shipping for repair of/my HCU; "It usually takes about 3 days from receipt to repair..." miesk5 UPDATE, check w/BBA first; they may have stopped re-man ops.

Or do a 3G swap. I did one on an 85 w/351W. Fairly easy if you can find the wiring harness.

Yep 3g swap is hard to beat in these trucks, easy to swap better amperage and still cheap...

Has 3G 1 wire alternators. It is what I run in my broncos. No complaints. Just put their biggest one in the 92.
Comes with the harness and everything.

Yeah as soon as the pic hosting site is back up to normal, I will update it and try to find old pics and replace what I can’t find.
